FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) Hair Transplant
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is one of the most common hair transplant techniques used today. Individual hair follicles are extracted from the donor area and transplanted to areas experiencing thinning hair and baldness. FUE provides natural-looking results with rapid healing and minimal scarring.
Phases of FUE Hair Transplant
- Extraction
Using a micro motor device, individual hair follicles are carefully extracted from the donor area without leaving a linear scar. This phase requires precision to preserve the integrity of each graft. - Channel Opening
Tiny incisions are made in the recipient area where the extracted grafts will be implanted. These channels’ angle, direction, and depth are critical for achieving a natural hairline and dense appearance. - Transplantation
The harvested grafts are placed into the opened channels, following the natural direction of hair growth to ensure seamless integration and aesthetic results.
New Era in Hair Transplant: Sapphire FUE

Sapphire FUE Hair Transplant is an enhanced version of the FUE technique. The major innovation lies in the use of sapphire blades instead of traditional steel for the channel opening phase. These ultra-sharp, smooth sapphire blades allow for more precise and finer incisions.
Key Benefits of Sapphire FUE:
- Faster Healing due to less tissue trauma
- Higher Density and more natural-looking results
- Reduced Risk of Complications such as scalp trauma or scarring
- Better Direction Control for natural hair angles
Although the extraction and implantation phases are identical to standard FUE, the use of sapphire blades in the channel creation phase marks a significant leap in technique, precision, and overall outcome.

Sapphire FUE Hair Transplant Aftercare
Hair transplant patients can generally continue their daily lives, but it’s important to be careful when touching their scalp. It’s crucial to protect your scalp from extreme heat and harsh chemicals during the recovery period. Some patients may experience small red spots on their scalp for a few weeks after the procedure, but these gradually disappear over time.
After the procedure, shedding of the transplanted hair follicles is normal. This is a natural part of the process. It promotes the growth of stronger, healthier hair. Therefore, patients should not worry about this initial shedding. Sapphire FUE results usually begin to appear around three months. It can take up to a year to see the full results. Your new hair will be as durable as the old one, but factors such as aging and personal hygiene can affect its lifespan. As long as you maintain proper care, your hair will continue to grow vigorously.

Sapphire FUE Hair Transplant Timeline
By taking proper care of your newly transplanted hair, you can ensure its lifelong growth.
Some numbness will occur after the procedure. This numbness usually lasts 2-3 days. Within 15 days, you’ll experience only mild redness on your scalp, and your appearance will gradually return to normal. If beards were used as donor hair, you could shave them after a week. The donor area usually heals after a month.
So, how long does it take for hair to grow after a transplant?
7 Days Post-Operative: Numbness and mild swelling may occur, but this usually resolves within a week.
10 Days Post-Operative: Small scabs or red spots on the scalp begin to disappear.
2 Weeks Post-Operative: While mild itching may persist, there will be no visible scarring or marks. No special care is required at this stage.
1 Month Post-Operative: The newly transplanted hair begins to fall out; This is a normal and healthy part of the process. After shedding, the hair begins to regrow.
4 Months Post-Operative: The transplanted hair grows approximately 4-6 cm, appears denser, and any persistent itching subsides.
6-12 Months Post-Operative: Concerns about density are normal between 5-6 months. The final results thicker, fuller hair appear after about a year, validating the investment you’ve made in the procedure.
Concerns like “It’s been 5 months since my hair transplant, and my hair still isn’t dense enough” are normal. The final results usually appear after a year. Your appearance after one year will demonstrate that this journey was truly worthwhile.

Sapphire FUE Hair Transplant – FAQ
What is Special About the Sapphire Technique?
The sapphire technique uses sharp and strong sapphire blades. The channels are opened with great precision in a V-shape. It has antiseptic properties that promote a short healing process.
Is a Sapphire Hair Transplant Suitable for Me?
The sapphire method is primarily suitable for people with medium to thick hair. If your hair has these characteristics, the results will be excellent. Our doctor will provide you with all the details during your personal consultation.
Is One Session Enough to Achieve the Desired Results?
A single procedure is usually required to achieve the desired results, but this, of course, depends on the condition of the donor and recipient areas. Your personal hair analysis will determine whether a single session is sufficient for you.
Is shedding period after hair transplant normal?
Post-hair transplant hair loss is common in the weeks and months after surgery. It happens when grafts enter the telogen (resting) phase, usually around 2 weeks post-op. After shedding, hair re-enters the anagen (growth) phase and starts growing back permanently.
